Shoes take up space quickly and can transfer dirt to clothing. A better system keeps them contained and uses the empty space inside them.
Choose fewer pairs
Start with shoes that cover the most situations. Wear the bulkiest pair during travel when practical, then pack the lighter pairs.
Use shoe bags or separate pouches
Place each pair in a washable or wipeable bag before adding it to your suitcase. This keeps soles away from clothing and makes unpacking cleaner.
Use the inside space
Small items such as socks can fit inside structured shoes. This helps protect the shoe shape while using space that would otherwise be empty.
Pack shoes at the edges
Place heavier footwear near the bottom or side of the suitcase and use packing cubes for clothing beside it.
The result is a cleaner suitcase with fewer loose items and better use of space.
